The Gallery Timeline

30+ years! Hard to believe...and where did the years go?  Here is a brief history...

1984 - My ex-husband Steve Fabiani and I opened Southwest Trading Co. and built it into a nationally recognized Native American art gallery.  The list of visiting artists is too long to list but suffice it to say we had some really great times!

1996 - When Steve and I went our separate ways I opened Hozhoni Gallery in Naperville, IL.  The 13+ years I operated Hozhoni were also rich with artist's visits, travel and opening a second gallery in Seattle, WA, which was the west coast field office of Red Feather Development Group; a non-profit organization which built homes for Native elders.

2010 - I moved the gallery to Downers Grove, IL and changed the name to The Sundance Gallery.  I transitioned out of a storefront in 2015 to devote more time to travel, lecturing and promoting Native arts nationwide.

The "Champagne Weekend" started in 1984 as a way to thank our loyal customers and offer a festive weekend to celebrate the arts of our indigenous peoples.  Steve and I continue to work together to further our mission which is to preserve the arts and promote Native artists.
